Aaron,

GOOD POST!! My mother, Leah Migala MPAS, PA-C, has been commenting about her patients being deficient. I am glad you are raising awareness.

Vitamin D is an important nutrient. If you follow a reasonable well-balanced diet without a lot of junk food and caffiene, allow for proper rest and relaxation, enjoy a little sunshine each day, the average person should have no problem with deficient vitamin D. How each individual absorbs and utilizes the vitamin could be an issue as everyone is different. If you have a concern, always consult a qualified healthcare professional for advice.

Eat citrus fruit at least once a day as well.

Let a little sunshine into your life. I think we spend less time in the sun as we get older, for a lot of reasons. Everyone should try to increase their sun exposure just a little if they are never outside for long.

Sunshine, aside from the Vitamin D, has other benefits.

Yes, I wonder what Dr. Peter would say too.....speaking of him, where is he? I haven't seen him on the blogoshere lately.

I love the sun. No, I don't sit out on the beach on a shiney silver blanket 6 hours a day. I just mean that the sun makes me happy. When I wake up in the morning and see the sun shining, I can't help but smile.

Vitamin D is such an important nutrient and we get far, far too little of it. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Good old sunshine. We spend most of our life inside sitting in front of a computer screen. Need to invent a computer screen that emits a natural light spectrum.
