Yeah, why is that?
From this article:
" A study has found that men with the "dark triad" of traits – narcissism, thrill- seeking and deceitfulness – are likely to have a larger number of sexual affairs."
I think the article's and study's authors may be making the mistake of blaming the victim. There was (at least in how I read it) a view that the women somehow knew about the deceitfulness, whereas they may just be buying into the self-confidence (narcissism) and excitement (thrill-seeking). I would guess that they deceitfulness comes in by feigning some nice-guy attributes, which are the only things some nice-guys have going for them.

How can this be the basis for a study?
They're college students -- they have no experience and are, generally, at that time of their life, very self absorbed. This is natural because they are at the stage of 'finding themselves' energetically speaking. This biases the study totally. They should have asked mature men between 30 and 50 to get a better example.
I do agree with the part that women are often quite aware that the man is being deceitful -- and enjoy the 'challenge' or 'thrill' themselves. This is not always true and a 'dark triad' man can be interesting in the short term but is not what a lasting relationship is built upon.
I totally agree with John. It takes two to tango.

The frenzy actually never SATISFIES, so we are onto the next moment of gratification for the high.
Having Sex is fabulous and certainly pleasurable. However, since most who are reading these blogs and comments are over 30 and been around the block a few times, we indeed KNOW first had how Making Love is more FULFILLING and SATISFYING on multiple levels. I mean porn and XXX items have their appeal and stimulus, but they ultimately get repetitive and tedious. They lose their ability to gratify.

I would tend to believe that study.

I agree with Sue, college students are a horrible cross section of society to use for this study. They should have been included as a section of society, but not for the entire study.
It does take two to tango. Whenever I have been in the mood there has always been someone willing to go along with it. It is scary how many times that someone was married or in a "committed" relationship. Sorta makes you think about the reality of things versus the perception.
Women go along with it a lot of the time because they are cheating too. See the above comment. Deceitfulness is a two way street.
Most people are better off not married and always trust, but verify.
Lisa is right.
